This will be the first time AMW has built LHD vehicles, which are the norm in Middle Eastern countries. Consistent efforts by the export marketing team and speedy product development and regulatory approvals by the R&D team, with the help of the sourcing team enabled fulfilment of the first batch in record time.
The vehicles were built for L&T and Simplex Infrastructure, Oman and will be used for the construction of the 900 km, all weather Batinah Expressway, connecting Oman and Dubai. AMW was chosen as the preferred supplier in the face of stiff competition from the likes of MAN and HINO (a Toyota company).
The new foray has opened a gateway to new markets for AMW like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other markets in the Middle East and Africa.
